Think of the productive process as the general economy on the level of the universe. Labor-power as the Sun which expends onto the raw materials which homogenize to become a single homogeneous body: the commodity. The concrete labor generates the use-value. This concrete labor which is expended represents the recuperable heterogeneous energy which the commodity recuperates. The abstract labor generates exchange-value. The abstract labor which is expended represents the irrecuperable heterogeneous energy which the commodity cannot recuperate, but rather as the commodity is itself a homogeneous body which actually expels this irrecuperable abstract labor in the form of surplus-value. Hence, we can now coin another neologism for another new concept: ‘surplus-value-as-the-accursed-share’ or ‘the accursed share of surplus-value’ (I prefer the second).
