The climate crisis is something which those within the present day restricted economy of politics utilize as an object of horror. They use it to motivate the masses to support policies to avert this eschatological scene of a world devoid of energy where the Earth is scorched and humanity has drowned. The eschatological images of the doomed environment which they proliferate are anthropocentric and only plunge us into a restricted economy of fascistic policy making (see: Nick Land’s The Thirst for Annihilation for more words on the fascism of policy making). If it is an object of horror, are we not also therefore drawn to this object? Can we not stop ourselves because we are attracted to this horrific event.
